Christantus Uche Sparks Dominant Palace Victory at Shelbourne.
Even though embarking on their maiden continental adventure, Crystal Palace are adapting very quickly. Without star figures like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles departed Dublin with a commanding win that all but guarantees them a place in the Europa Conference League playoffs.
Another victory in their next fixture against Finland's KuPS should be sufficient to seal straight entry to the knockout stages, especially after a previous stumble against Strasbourg.
Fringe Players Grasp the Opportunity
This occasion offered a chance for several Palace's fringe players to impress. Christantus Uche, in only his second beginning after arriving on loan from Getafe, opened the account with a well-taken finish. Striker Eddie Nketiah added a another, finding the net for the second game in succession.
A Shelbourne side that had concluded their league season proved outmatched even for a mostly second-string Palace lineup. The visitors were further depleted by the news that Mateta and Muñoz are out with leg problems.

The contest was effectively over eight minutes from half-time. Yeremy Pino meandered past some comically weak challenges before calmly dispatching a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to extend the lead to 3-0.
Following the break, coach Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to withdraw key players like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse almost scoring his very first touch, only to see his effort blocked.
Esse was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one attempt crash off each posts before being clasped on the line. Uche also blazed a sitter of a chance, indicating there is still room for improvement in his game.
The only concern for Palace was a second-half injury to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This paved the way for 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to earn his senior debut, capping an otherwise perfect night for the traveling side.
